The business newspaper Vedomosti writes, “The development company Vozrozhdenie VVTs, which is controlled by structures of the businessmen Zarakh Iliev and God Nisanov, will build two hotels on the territory of the exhibition complex.”
The plans call for the creation of a Park Inn by Radisson with 600 rooms and a Radisson Congress Hotel with 400 rooms and one of the largest congress centers in the city totaling approximately 4000 square meters. A site has already been identified for the hotels – a piece of land across from the Moscow Pavilion at the exhibition center.
RECONSTRUCTION OF ALL-RUSSIA EXHIBITION CENTER
In 2011 was announced that the reconstruction of the All-Russia Exhibition Center (VVTs) would be entrusted to the owners of the European Mall and Ukraine Hotel – the businessmen God Nisanov and Zarakh Iliev. The reconstruction project is estimated to cost $1.5 billion while the investors have indicated their readiness to invest more than $2 billion in the effort. According to the approved development concept, the plans call for turning the center into a major recreation and leisure destination for Moscow’s residents and tourists. The redevelopment of the historical part of the exhibition center will be limited to restoration.
ARCTIC RESTORATION IN MURMANSK
The reconstruction of buildings created in the Soviet period is relevant not only for Moscow but for Russia’s regions as well. A case in point, since 2012 RD Group (part of RD Group) has been leading the reconstruction of the largest hotel in Murmansk – the Arctic Hotel. The history of the hotel began more than 80 years ago and it boasts a floor space of over 30,000 square meters. Moreover, the hotel is believed to be the tallest building above the Arctic Circle.
According to the plans of RD Group, a large portion of the 19-story building will be refitted to serve as a modern business center while the upper stories of the Arctic will continue to serve as hotel space. The building will also have two restaurants, a bar and conference hall. Completion of reconstruction work and the launch of the hotel are planned for 2014.
RD Group is well known for its ability to manage major projects across large distances from its headquarters in Moscow. Distances of thousands of kilometers have not hindered the company from bringing to life major projects, such as the elite Rose Valley residential complex in Luxembourg and Dilijan International School in Armenia.
