In late October Romanov Dvor became of the first business center in Russia to receive a “Very Good” score on BREEAM In-Use International 2013 according to the updated criteria, which confirms that the project complies with world class environmental standards for Class A business centers.

On November 7 in the Zu Café at Romanov Dvor a press breakfast was held for journalists of leading business media with representatives of RD Management, including: Deputy General Director for Strategic Development Darrell Stanaford, Office Real Estate Manager Alexander Ustinov and Deputy Head of Property Management Evgeny Ovchinnikov. Igor Reunov, General Director of Geoengine, the consulting company which provided recommendations for improving the property to comply with BREEAM standards, also participated in the press breakfast.

WHY BREEAM

“The BREEAM In-Use International 2013 certification is a rather substantial and comprehensive process which we carried out together with the consulting company Geoengine,” Alexander Ustinov said. “We followed all of the advice of the green building experts, which allowed Romanov Dvor to receive the ‘Very Good’ certificate. The receipt of this certificate is very meaningful event for the tenants of the business center as well, as many of them already adhere to green standards as a matter of corporate policy.”

Evgeny Ovchinnikov noted that “as a part of the BREEAM certification process in many of the parking and common areas LED lighting was installed to reduce electricity use. Moreover, an automated water flow control system was installed for all technical premises and aerators were installed to limit water flow to 5 liters per minute for water outlets in all the restrooms and kitchens of the business complex and to 4.5 liters per minute in the showers of the World Class Fitness Center.”

BIRDHOUSES IN THE COURTYARD

A lively discussion ensued at the press breakfast when it was mentioned that in compliance with the requirements of BREEAM In-Use International 2013 birdhouses were installed at the complex.

Concluding the official program of the press event, Darrell Stanaford noted that “this rating is a result of the intensive and professional work of our project team, which identified the most economically and technically effective solutions necessary to create the conditions for a ‘Very Good’ score. However, our work does not end with this, as we will continue to strive for improvement and advancement according to green standards.”

The journalists were subsequently given an excursion through Romanov Dvor and demonstrated the improvements achieved per the recommendations of Geoengine.

The Romanov Dvor business center belongs to RD Group. The facility was built by RD Group and is managed by RD Management (both part of RD Group).
