Urban Exhibition Opened at Romanov Dvor

Zur Liste der Nachrichten

Photo exhibition “City with a Human Face” through the Eyes of Children opened today at the art gallery of the Romanov Dvor business quarter.

The exhibition presents selected photographs by the winners of the nationwide photo contest, in which children and teenagers from nearly 80 Russian cities – from Moscow and large administrative centers to small remote towns – took part.

Students from throughout Russia were sending their works on urban environment to the contest during all summer, and in mid-September, the competent jury decided the winners. Roman Tkachenko, Head of the Representative Office of RD Group in Russia, was one of the jury members.

Photos taken by very different children who never met before build a holistic view of a modern city, with its fine lines, beauty and anxiety; speed and inertia; dilapidation and imperishability. Images of fictional characters, favorite toys are still with them - and the fact that children find their favorite fairy tales on the streets only highlights the diversity of opportunities the city gives. However, the pictures hold much more than simply childhood attributes, inviting adults to dialogue and reflection on the past, present and future.

City with a Human Face photo exhibition will run till October 15.
