A personal exhibition of the renowned Russian traveler and explorer Fyodor Konyukhov has opened at the art gallery of the Romanov Dvor business complex.
Fyodor Konyukhov is just as successful conquering mountain peaks as he is mastering the canvas, and today the collection of his drawings and paintings exceeds 3000.
“Many people think that the artist creates his work siting in a warm studio. But that is not true for everyone! My drawings emerge in a different manner. My works are events which I have experienced, they are my thoughts, my perception of my environs,” the artists and explorer says, describing his creative work.
The exhibition of Fyodor Konyukhov’s works will be on display at the Romanov Dvor business complex through the end of March.
A TRAVELER AND AN ARTIST
Fyodor Konyukhov went on his first expedition when rowed solo across the Sea of Azov in a fishing boat at 15 years of age. In spring of 1990 he became the first Russian to reach the North Pole skiing solo.
He became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR in 1983. Since 1996 he has been a member of the Moscow Union of Artists. Konyukhov was awarded a Gold Medal by the Russian Academy of the Arts.
