RD Group is organizing a press tour to Armenia September 27-29 to highlight the interim results of its construction work on Dilijan International School and to demonstrate to leading business media the company’s capacity to create highly effective project teams and remotely manage complex projects.
Why RD Group
Dilijan International School (DIS) is a philanthropy project sponsored by the fund Ruben and Veronika Vardanyan and Friends. The ideologue and founder of DIS, the well-known Russian businessman and philanthropist Ruben Vardanyan, is creating an educational project that is rather ambitious in its scale and scope. The construction of the school is being supported by the government of Armenia and personally by President Serzh Sargsyan.
Considering the school’s prestigious international status and its significance to Armenia, the top world experts and companies are being brought in to work on the project. This is why the investors selected RD Group, which has 20 years of experience in developing high-class properties internationally. RD Group (part of RD Group) is acting as the managing company, general designer and general contractor for the project.
The architectural plan for Dilijan International School was developed by the well-known British architect Tim Flynn. Based on his experience participating in the design of more than 40 educational complexes worldwide, Mr. Flynn created a comfortable space for the students’ education and creative development.
Successes of RD Group
As the general designer, RD Group succeeded in optimizing some of the earlier versions of the project plans, thus achieving substantial savings on capital expenditures and resulting in an increase in building space by 3000 square meters. The construction work is proceeding on schedule and at present more than 50% of the work has been completed for Phase 1 of the project.
Thanks to the construction of Dilijan International School in Armenia, more than 1000 new jobs will be created.
Development phases of DIS
Dilijan International School is being developed in two phases.
Phase 1. By July 2014 the first phase of construction will be completed, including the following: the main school building; sport and medical centers; football field; volleyball, basketball and tennis courts; student housing; multifunctional center; technical support building; garage and other facilities.
Phase 2. The second phase will be launched in 2016 and it will include the following: landscaping of parks and installation of fountains; a cafeteria; stage arts center and amphitheater for hosting international festivals; and additional housing for students and teachers.
