Solo exhibition of Gelena Chabotar opened at the art gallery of Romanov Dvor business center.
The works of Gelena Chabotar carry the spectator back to the Italian Renaissance, the times of street theatre and carnivals. Commedia dell'arte with its diversity of images stimulates allegoric, mythological interpretation of reality and its identification with masquerade culture. Through the alembic of the author’s fancy and her derisive attitude to the characters of her works, life with its eternal values resembles a theatre performance, appears in the ironic light of porcelain masks and galvanic smiles.
It is planned to release a catalogue of the artist by the date of vernissage. It will include the artworks created in the last 20 years.
