RIA Novosti: Courtyard of Romanov Dvor III Transformed into Public Space

Back

RD Group has transformed the internal courtyard of Romanov Dvor III, situated in the center of Moscow, into a public space. This site will be a place for lectures and master classes, exhibitions and films screenings, RIA Novosti reports.

The courtyard is located in the 41st quarter of the Central Administrative District next to the gastronomic street Romanov Alley, the Moscow State University Journalism School and the Church of the Banner. As a result the public space encompasses urban architecture from the 17th to the 21st century – the courtyard is surrounded by the Sheremetiev Palace the Museum-Apartment of Timiryazev and Romanov Dvor. Here the dynamic business environment fits in harmoniously with Orthodox culture and education, RIA Novosti writes.

The final touches are being put on the courtyard’s landscape design and features, and the free public Wi-Fi system is already functioning.

This place will become a major magnet for the young intellectual and cultural elite of the city, RIA Novosti writes. This site will become a platform for holding master classes by the Skolkovo Business School, delivering lectures by renowned urban designers, screening films under the open sky as well as organizing exhibits and master classes for the MSU Art School and much more.

A SPACE FOR THE CITY’S RESIDENTS

The internal courtyard of the Romanov Dvor III business center is designed so that it is accessible for the residents and visitors of Moscow. RD Group took care when planning the design of the building to ensure that visitors can easily reach the courtyard. From Romanov Pereulok city residents can ascend to the courtyard via an outdoor escalator. This quaint corner of old Moscow can also be accessed via Mokhovaya Street by walking around the old MSU Journalism School building.

The inauguration of the internal courtyard coincides with the official opening of the Romanov Dvor III complex, which will be held on December 12.
