President of Armenia Presents Award to Gagik Adibekyan

President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan presented the Order of Honor to Gagik Adibekyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of RD Group.

In September President Serzh Sargsyan awarded Gagik Adibekyan the Order of Honor for establishing, strengthening and developing friendship with the Republic of Armenia. In the course of the implementation of its projects in Armenia, RD Group has introduced new technologies for both property construction and property management.

Gagik Adibekyan is also one of the co-founders of the international boarding school UWC Dilijan College in Armenia. This is the first international boarding school in the CIS to have become a full-fledged member of the United World Colleges (UWC) educational network.

RD Group performed three key roles in the project to develop the international boarding UWC Dilijan College: the asset management company RD became a co-investor in the project; the construction work was carried out by RD Group; and RD Management will fulfill the facility management role. This reflects the main principle of the holding’s work – full-cycle development: investment, construction and management.

OPENING OF THE SCHOOL

UWC Dilijan College’s official opening ceremony will be held on October 11, 2014. Today 97 students 16 to 18 years of age from South and Central America, CIS countries, Central and Eastern Europe, the United States, Canada and Australia. They are studying according to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP), which is recognized by the world’s top universities.

WHAT IS UWC DILIJAN

The international boarding school UWC Dilijan College is a philanthropy project initiated and founded by the well-known businessman and philanthropist Ruben Vardanyan together with his wife Veronika Zonabend. The construction of the school is being supported by the government of Armenia and personally by President Serzh Sargsyan. UWC Dilijan College was built according to the designs of a leading London architecture bureau – Tim Flynn Architects.

ABOUT THE AWARD

The Order of Honor is a state award of Armenia. The Order of Honor was established in 2000 and is presented for special services for the protection of the state and national interests of the Republic of Armenia, for its independence and the strengthening of democracy, as well as for significant contribution to the establishment, strengthening and development of friendship with the Republic of Armenia and the promotion of peace between nations.
