Gagik Adibekyan Foundations Hold Charity Initiative in Armenia

On 25 December, “A Warm Christmas”, a charity initiative to support families with children, was launched in Masis. The organisers are the Adibekyan Family Foundation for Advancement and the Masis Development Foundation.

The initiative is running from 25 December to 7 January. Masis families who are either expecting a child, or have newborn children or children aged under 16, as well as families with disabled children, and nurseries, will receive New Year presents.

Each family’s present — children’s clothing and footwear, newborn care items, baby accessories, toys or educational games— will depend on the specific requirements.

Every family will receive individual attention when the presents are handed out. For example, families expecting a child during the holiday period will be given their present by the Masis Development Foundation volunteers when they are discharged from the maternity hospital, while families with disabled children will receive theirs at a charity concert on 25 December.

Gagik Adibekyan, a founder of the Adibekyan Family Foundation for Advancement charity foundation, said: “Charity should be aimed at children, at their upbringing and education. Our objective is to bring up a new generation in Armenia to whom we will be able to pass on the country’s heritage, and we alone are responsible for the kind of people our children grow up to be. By helping families with children today, we are making a contribution to the development of both Masis and Armenia.”

Masis Development Foundation Executive Director Stepan Hovhannisyan commented: “Last year, working with Masis residents, we held Christmas and New Year events in the town, and this year we are carrying on this excellent tradition. It is important for people to join in doing something good together.”

“A Warm Christmas” is part of a programme organised by the Adibekyan Family Foundation for Advancement and the Masis Development Foundation for the New Year and Christmas holidays. Between 24 and 30 December, Masis will host a concert, a New Year party for children, a literature and music evening, a New Year carnival, and other events aimed at bringing the town’s residents together.
